Professional Council

The Professional Council is an advisory body of the General Directorate of Accreditation of Kosovo (DAK), which aims to ensure impartiality, transparency and equality during the accreditation process.

DAK establishes the Professional Council which consists of the category of parties of interest as follows:

  • Accredited conformity assessment bodies  (CAB);
  • Civil Society Associations, including Consumer Associations;
  • Public Authorities, including the Kosovo Standardization Agency, Kosovo Metrology Agency and educational institutions;
  • Chambers and business associations;
  • DAK.

The Professional Council has the following responsibilities and duties:

  • Evaluate DAK’s annual and long-term objectives;
  • Evaluate DAK policies;
  • Evaluate Appeals Procedures;
  • Support initiatives for agreements between DAK and other accreditation bodies;
  • Support initiatives for the development of new policies related to the work and expansion of DAK activities;
  • Recommend, promote, create and support initiatives for the development of accreditation activities at national and international level;
  • Appoint members of the Appeals Commission;
  • Support DAK in fulfilling the conditions to become a member with full rights of international and European accreditation organizations;
  • Support DAK to continuously identify, analyse, evaluate, address, monitor and document any risk of impartiality.
