DAK applies to the EA for MLA

In the Accreditation Directorate of Kosovo this year wereachieved a number of successes. These successes were related to its membership in international bodies, such as the International Laboratory Accreditation (ILAC) (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) that was reached on 27.07.2010 and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF )which took place on 02.08.2010, as a member with full rights.

The Accreditation Directorate has settledup the management system, fully functional in accordance with European and international standards of accreditation, institutional strengthening and the offe of a professional and efficient service accreditation.

As another objective more important that DAK has set itself in its medium term planning for 2011 is to achieve multilateral agreement was signed (MLA) in the EA.

This agreement has a special importance with which this agreement supports global trade by reducing technical barriers to trade. Guarantee the free movement of goods without the need for re-testing or re-calibration in laboratories where enters. In this way based on the principle "a product tested once, accepted everywhere" accomplished the goal of free movement of products with minimum costs and efforts.

MLA allows the same application procedures for accreditation, mutual recognition of accreditation, recognition of certificates issued by conformity assessment bodies that are accredited by accreditation bodies of respective countries. This will create business facilities as guaranteed circulation of products without the cost based on the principle "one test, a certification, an accreditation", and this without neglecting the necessary level of security, and health and environmental protection.
