The Accreditation Process consists of:
Application – The accreditation procedure starts with the application which is submitted to the DAK office by the Conformity Assessment Bodies (CAB). The application form, procedures, regulations, policies, and technical instructions for all areas of accreditation can be found at DAK`s official website www.dak.rks-gov.net.
Review of documentation – Documentation of Conformity Assessment Bodies submitted at DAK is reviewed and evaluated if it complies with the relevant standard requirements by the DAK`s assessment team.
Pre-assessment visit- Based on the agreements with CABs, a pre-assessment visit may be carried out, identifying deficiencies in the CAB`s system or competences.
Assessment visit – Assessment visit of DAK conducts an on-site assessment visit in order to assess whether the CAB activities coincide with the activities presented in the CAB`s documentation and to assess how competent is the body to conduct these conformity assessment activities.
Evaluation report – The results of the site visit are presented in the evaluation report, which is also signed by the assessed CABs. If during the assessment visit are identified non-conformities, to Cab’s is given a three (3) month deadline for their closure.
Decision on accreditation – The Accreditation Directorate informs the Accreditation Council about the applicant’s file based on legal procedures. The Accreditation Council reviews the file and recommends granting or refusing accreditation.
Approval – If the recommendation of the Accreditation Council is positive, the Director General of DAK signs the decision and the accreditation certificate. The accreditation certificate is valid for four (4) years.
Supervision – Supervisory visits are organized at least once a year (1) by DAK, in order to ensure that the accredited CABs continue to operate in accordance with the standard for which they are accredited.
Re-accreditation – After completing the four (4) year period, DAK shall continue with the re-accreditation procedure if there is a request submitted by CAB.
