Kosovo General Accreditation Directorate (DAK) is the only National Accreditation Body, recognized by law, to assess in accordance with international standards the technical competence of Conformity Assessment Bodies performing activities such as: testing, calibration , certification, and inspection whether in the public or private sectors, of voluntary or obligatory field.

General Accreditation Directorate functions according to the Law No. 05/L-117 adopted in the Assembly of Kosovo on 20.12.2016 and published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Kosovo, No. 2/12 January 2017.

The mission

The mission of DAK is to: provide accreditation services in the field of conformity assessment at the country level; raise awareness for accreditation in society; and, take an active role in setting the rules on quality infrastructure.

The Role of Accreditation

The Accreditation Body is an impartial authority that works for the public interest to ensure that the services provided by the Conformity Assessment Bodies (CABs) are reliable.

As an independent third party, DAK ensures that the accredited CABs respect the standards and their conformity declarations constitute a guarantee in protecting the environment, health and safety of citizens.
