Kosovo Accreditation Directorate (DAK) is the sole National Accreditation Body, legally recognized, to assess the technical competence of Conformity Assessment Bodies in accordance with international standards that perform activities such as: testing, calibration, certification, and inspection, whether in public or private sector, of� mandatory or voluntary area.
Kosovo Accreditation Directorate operates under the Accreditation Law No. 03/L- 069, which was amended on 28.06.2011 (Law No. 04 / L 007), and under Administrative Instruction No. 2009/02.
Accreditation is voluntary and is based on the principles of impartiality, transparency, professional competence, confidentiality, compliance with the accreditation rules and procedures in Europe and at international level. For the activities where the human health and life is threatened, relevant ministries through the legislation in force, make accreditation mandatory.
In this case, Ministry of Trade and Industry, according to Administrative Instruction No. 07/2012 for the quality of liquid petroleum fuels, has made accreditation mandatory for this field of activity. In AI No. 07/2012, article 18, paragraph 5 states: The conformity assessment bodies should be accredited to the required fields, according to standard SK ISO / IEC 17025 or SK ISO / IEC 17020 or should be accredited until December 31, 2012. As a conclusion, CABs which are authorized by the MTI to control the quality of petroleum liquid fuels, if they won't be accredited until 31.12.2012, the authorization will be withdrawn.
We send this information to the laboratories that are authorized by the MTI and have applied to start the assessment procedures and also to all accredited and non accredited CABs in Kosovo.
